When you are outside of North America, the term MLS or Multiple Listings Service takes on a much looser definition. Many countries have vastly different laws regarding the listings of real estate for sale, and many countries are not held to the tight standards of Canada and the United States. For international real estate web sites, the term MLS may simply mean properties that are for sale by that company, and you may not be searching all listings for sale in that area. Some websites may charge for MLS access. Although we recommend that you do not pay for MLS access, for some countries this may be the best route to take when searching for International real estate. MLS listings that appear on one website may not appear on another. For the most part, registering for International MLS access does not bind you to that particular company, and you should not feel obligated to use them for your realty transaction. We strongly recommend contacting a real estate professional in the country you are searching in to discuss the laws and process of searching for and buying real estate in that area.
